PC board heatsinks, screw-fastened

For the dissipation of heat from high-efficiency single electronic components on PC boards, the use of extruded heatsinks with special fastenings is a good solution. In addition to the well-known versions with integral solder pins, Fischer Elektronik now offer their range of PC board heatsinks with special screw fastenings. Instead of the solder pin, a solid brass bolt with an M3 thread on one end is firmly pressed into the heatsink. Fastening onto the PC board is then achieved using a counter nut on the reverse side of the boards. This fastening method is specially recommended in areas where the PC board may be exposed to strong vibration and shocks, e. g. in railway applications. The risk of mechanical support being lost due to a broken soldering joint is no longer present.
