Male headers with selective gold plating
Fischer Elektronik have considerably extended their range of male headers. In addition to completely tinned and gold-plated contacts, "selective" gold-plated contacts are offered with immediate effect for the full range with a pin length of up to approx. 50mm. Thus, the delivery range with grid sizes of 2.54mm and 2mm comprising straight headers with different pin lengths, angled headers, connecting headers with two insulators and male headers in SMD design is extended by a large number of different versions. In case of selective gold plating, the plug area is gold-plated and the soldering area is tinned. Gold-plating is applied with a min. thickness of 0,2µm Au, the tin coating has a thickness of between 4 and 6µm Sn. The complete contact is provided with a Ni blocking layer prior to gold-plating and tinning. By extending their range in this way, Fischer Elektronik are reacting to the steadily growing demand for male headers with selective gold-plating. There are two advantages for the customer: no gold is introduced into the soldering bath and, especially in the case of long pins, the use of gold is reduced.
