Expansion of the product portfolio thermal conductive foils
Often contact surfaces appear flat and smooth, nearly perfect for an optimal thermal connection when contacting an electronic device on a heatsink for example.
At a closer look the rule applies that in contacting of two flat surfaces together the effective contact area is only 2 to 5 per cent without mechanical rework in reality. The remaining surface is an air cushion which consists of gaps in which air functions as a thermal insulator. Acceptable thermal transfer resistances can only be achieved if the inevitable production based tolerances equalise unevennesses and roughnesses of the surfaces to be connected. KG expands their large product portfolio of contact materials by further innovative and technical powerful thermal conductive foils. The product innovations range from silicone free and silicone containing thermal conductive foils up to coated aluminium foils, GEL thermal conductive foils, fluid GEL and phase change thermal conductive foils. The fifteen different basic materials WFPK 09, WFP 09, WFPK 13, WFS 09 …, WFS 16, WFS 18, WFSA 30 …, WFQ 25, WSF …, WFG 15 …, WFGH 30 …, WFGH 50 …, GEL S 18, FSF 52 P und FSF 15 P … offer a material thickness range with its associated thermal conductivity of 0,9 up to 5 W/m*K, depending on the construction. All products are UL 94 V-0 listed and usually have an operating temperature range of -60°C up to +200°C. The materials are available as plate or roll materials and can be produced with an adhesive layer for better mounting, depending on the application. The production of customer specific drawing parts is done by means of a digital cutter beside of the classical stamp technique. First named production process means no tooling costs for our customers as CAD files from dxf data can be implemented in ready and tolerance-exact cut templates.
